Frequently asked

How much does medical treatment in India cost?

Medical treatment in India is typically 60 to 80 percent less expensive than equivalent procedures in the USA, UK, or Australia. Cardiac bypass surgery costs approximately USD 5,000 to 7,000 in India compared to USD 70,000 to 150,000 in the USA. Hip replacement in India costs USD 6,000 to 8,000 versus USD 40,000 to 50,000 in the USA. These savings substantially exceed travel and accommodation costs for international patients.

How do I apply for an e-Medical Visa for India?

The e-Medical Visa is available to citizens of 167 countries and is applied for online at the Indian Visa Online portal. You need a hospital appointment confirmation letter, passport-size photo, and passport details. Processing typically takes 1 to 4 business days. An e-Medical Attendant Visa is available for one accompanying family member. We manage the full visa documentation process for every patient we coordinate.

Which hospitals in India are best for international patients?

The best hospitals for international patients are those with NABH or JCI accreditation. Leading options include Manipal Hospitals (multi-city, cardiac, orthopaedic, oncology), Max Healthcare (Delhi NCR, cardiac, oncology), Apollo Hospitals (pan-India, widest international network), and Narayana Health (cardiac, Bengaluru). We recommend based on your specific treatment need and preferred city, not by any preferred arrangement.

Do you charge the patient for coordination services?

Our coordination fee model is discussed transparently at the start of each engagement. In most cases we earn a referral commission from the hospital and do not charge the patient directly for coordination. For complex cases requiring significant on-ground support, a patient care coordination fee may apply. This is always disclosed upfront before any commitment is made.

Can you coordinate post-treatment recovery in India before I return home?

Yes. We plan Ayurvedic recovery retreats, physiotherapy programmes, and wellness stays for patients who wish to spend time in India recovering before flying home. Kerala is a popular recovery destination for post-cardiac and post-orthopaedic patients. We also arrange wellness coordination for patients from New Zealand and Australia through our New Zealand retreat partner network.
